About

What is MOPS?

To attend a MOPS group you have to be a tidy mommy with clean floors.
No... MOPS has nothing to do with housework thankfully. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It's an international ministry reaching out to mothers in local chapter community groups such as ours. To learn more about the MOPS International click here.

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. The mission of MOPS is to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our MOPS group is also a MOMSNext group which is for moms of school-aged children (Kindergarten through High School!)

MOPS is run by moms, for moms. Organizing our meetings, decorating our room, making coffee, planning our year, preparing for crafts and recruiting volunteers for MOPPETS have all been done by fellow moms.

CLG MOPS & MOMSNext is a group of moms from all around the Hartford/Manchester/ Vernon area who meet at Church of the Living God twice a month for fellowship, fun and learning about we can each be a better mom, wife, friend, child of God, our own unique selves!

Who can attend MOPS?

Any mother of a child or children who's kids ages are between 0-5 or pre-school age (including Moms-to-be, Foster Moms and Adoptive Moms) AND mothers of school-aged children too (through High School!) as part of our MOMSNext group of moms.

MOMSnext is a ministry for mothers who've graduated beyond MOPS (preschool) aged children. This means many of our moms are able to continue their mothering journey with us, specific to issues relating to this new season of motherhood.  A mother’s influence is great during the school years. Join us in reaching more mothers with community and hope that is life-changing.

Each meeting follows a topic based around the years theme and involves a morning social time to catch up with other moms, dvd curriculum or a guest speaker, craft/demonstration, and discussion time - all while your children are cared for and entertained in our MOPPETS program.

Why? BECAUSE MOTHERING MATTERS
While you are being encouraged and connecting with other MOPS moms your kids are safe in our MOPPETS program.

Why do the children go to Moppets?

We feel it is important that Moms get some time out while at MOPS to recharge and refresh. Think of this time as your time.

The children are cared for by loving and competent Caregivers and you are able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in peace, while you connect with other moms. Where else can you confidently hand your children over to someone else for a break like this while your needs are met for a short time?

As a guideline, infants that require feeding may be in the room with you and we ask that all other infants/children are cared for in MOPPETS.

In the event your child needs you, a MOPPETS Carergiver will come and find you and you can go out to your child. Relax and enjoy this special time... just for you. And go home relaxed and re-energised!
